Welcome to the 2nd Annual World Cup Tech Challenge! On June 4th at Microsoft's campus in Mountain View 25 startups representing 17 countries are competing for the Cup. Applications are now closed.

Hundreds of startups from 53 countries applied - the top 25 qualified through a thorough selection process! The startups compete in 6 different groups (tech categories below). You can help them increase their chances by voting for your favorite on each Group Page listed in below icons. The winner in each Group will be selected by votes from the panel, audience as well as points from the online voting. The Group winner with the highest votes will be the winner of the Cup. Don’t forget to tweet about the event, include @SVForum #WorldCupTech and the country hashtag provided after each company info #WCTCountry. Let the games begin!

Keynote: Pascal Finette

Managing Director, Singularity University Labs

Pascal heads up the Startup Program at Singularity University where he grows startups tackling the world’s most intractable problems leveraging exponential technologies. He loves technology and believes that the Internet is deeply impacting mankind. He got started on the Net before there was a web browser, founded a couple of technology startups, led eBay’s Platform Solutions Group in Europe, launched a consulting firm helping entrepreneurs with their strategy & operations, invested into early-stage tech startups, led Mozilla’s Innovation Lab, created Mozilla’s accelerator program WebFWD, headed up Mozilla’s Office of the Chair and invested into social impact organizations around the globe at Google.org. He also founded the non-profit organizations Mentor for Good, POWERUP and The Coaching Fellowship; the GyShiDo (Get Your S%#& Done) movement and publishes the opinionated The Heretic newsletter. He frequently speaks and writes about the magic which happens at the intersection of entrepreneurship, technology & global impact. As a trained Co-Active executive coach he works with clients on achieving their full leadership potential. But most of all – Pascal loves to work with entrepreneurs who are making things better and go from zero to one.

Director of Google for Entrepreneurs

Mary Grove is Google's Director of Global Entrepreneurship Outreach where she leads Google for Entrepreneurs, the company's programs and partnerships to support startups and entrepreneurs in over 100 countries around the world. Mary joined Google in 2004 as part of the legal team working on the company's IPO then moved to New Business Development where she spent 6 years focused on a range of early stage product incubation and led hundreds of strategic partnerships. Mary is an active leader in entrepreneur and developer outreach efforts both in the US and internationally, spanning initiatives in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. She has led exploratory trips and efforts for Google in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, and the West Bank.
Mary earned her BA and MA from Stanford University. She sits on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of UP Global/Startup Weekend, an organization dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship around the world.

Founder and CEO of Blackbox

Fadi has in-depth knowledge and experience related to building successful startups in Silicon Valley and elsewhere in the world. For over 15 years, he has been successfully matching human capital and venture capital needs across the globe, guiding talented technology entrepreneurs in their path. Prior to founding Blackbox, Fadi was the founder and CEO of techVenture. Having firsthand experience of building teams for over 100 early stage startups he's a frequent speaker and an advisor/mentor with startup accelerators such as SeedCamp, HackFwd, StartupBootcamp, StartupChile, Skolkovo Startup Academy, and many other global initiatives.
